ABOUT
Lancaster Fair that has been open for 153 years.
The Labor Day week extravaganza spotlights agriculture activities, a large midway, 4-H exhibits, diverse musical entertainment and motorized competitions (pulling events and the ever-popular Demolition Derby). The grounds also boast wide clean midways and free parking.
From one end of the 65 acre compound straddling Route 3 to the other, the fair sprawls out for six days of camping, relaxation, and honky tonk atmosphere capping another North Country summer.
On any given day in the week-long schedule there are activities, exhibitions, competitions, and entertainment too vast to sample. From the Arts and Crafts Hall, where vegetables (including the counties’ largest pumpkin), flowers, and Grange exhibits are displayed , to the other end of the fairgrounds for horse pulling events, oxen skills competitions, sheep dog trials, and tractor pulls, one can sense the pulse of the region, its history, its roots, and enduring family values.
In short, many of the ingredients to our Great North Woods lifestyle and work are celebrated at the county’s signature event…the Lancaster Fair. Where else would you expect to find a real old fashion country fair but in the country!!
